It's about to get wicked in Whiting!

Join us for the fourth annual Wickedly Whiting Festival on October 12th! The festival runs from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. and includes food vendors with many fall comfort foods, a beer garden with live bands and many specialty brews, and a family stage offering a reptile show, magician, story time, costume contests and more!

Scare addicts can shop the Market of the Living Dead. Breakfast with a monster begins at 9:00 a.m. at Winey Beach Café (call 659.1466 for reservations). This is the only event of its kind in the Region, celebrating everything Halloween! It’s about to get wicked in Whiting!

Whiting is a city located on the southern shores of Lake Michigan, born of the railroads and the Standard Oil Company in 1889. It is a city of historic buildings: The Whiting Community Center, an Andrew Carnegie library and the Hoosier Theater. It’s a community that cherishes its history and continues to celebrate its traditions. There are beautiful old homes on streets named after city founders. Whiting specializes in unique shops and family owned businesses, a rich ethnic heritage and diversity, with festivals, summer concerts and parades. Whiting is ideally located 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. Robertsdale is an adjoining neighborhood to Whiting. Although part of the City of Hammond, the boundaries are blurred, and we exist as one big, happy community.
